So sad it's funny.....

I find it interesting how the brain makes certain connections. For example, I read this at Jennifer's and immediately thought of this at Ambient Irony.

For the lazy or click-through impaired, Jen posted:

This was a note left for the person who orders office supplies:

"My computer is almost completely out of toner!"

and Pixy Misa has a great post discussing

... a truly wonderful study that brings to light something we all know: Idiots are not aware that they are idiots.

I guess to me that's the scariest thing about idiots--their ignorance of their idiocy.

Well, yes. If idiots knew they were idiots, they wouldn't be idiots, just people who make lots of mistakes. We all make mistakes; it's not being aware of it that produces the true idiot.

Remind me to post my little rant on the subject of net negative productivity...

It's impossible to make things fool-proof because fools are so ingeneous!

The idiots who don't know their own idiocy are the most entertaining, but the case could be made that idiots who are just barely aware of their own idiocy are the more dangerous. Why? Because their idiocy bothers them, they get defensive about it, and then they become pigheadedly determined to do things Their Way, even though somewhere in the back of their tiny brains they are dimly aware that Their Way is The Total Idiot's Way.

I, er, have a relative who suffers from the problem. We all try to keep a safe distance from her. Especially when electricity is present.
