I have all sort of bloggy delights in store for my readers, including excerpts from my 19th century version of blogging (a journal written on paper!), and a listing of all the upgrades my computer received (for my geek readers). However, first, a vintage whine:
I don't like Windows ME!!!!!! I don't like IE 6!!!!! The tool bar now looks like Netscape, all my Mozilla bookmarks are gone, and the IE bookmarks, which survived, now open in a drop down instead of a sidebar like I like them too...
Plus, the MOST annoying of all--comments don't remember me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Auuuugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by Susie at January 12, 2004 09:52 AMTurn on cookies, it's in the security settings. That'll take care of pages remembering you.
He put ME on your computer?! And he's your actual blood relation?! Oh, the travesty. The inhumanity! This deserves immediate and severe retribution. Or perhaps you're paying back for something particularly heinous that you did in a former life...
Posted by: Jim at January 12, 2004 10:11 AMWhat he said about ME.
Upgrade to any flava XP; it's much, much better...
Posted by: J. Fielek at January 12, 2004 10:34 AMTesting to see if my own comments remember me--fingers crossed!
Posted by: Susie at January 12, 2004 11:10 AMtrying again....
Posted by: Susie at January 12, 2004 11:53 AMOh dear - I have to concur - your blood relation must have it out for you! Windows ME - I loathe Windows ME - I've tried deperately to help people with Windows ME - all to no avail. It's the operating system of the devil! (Bill should be put in a dark dungeon for many years for inflicting Windows ME on an unsuspecting public)
I know you're a student. Check with a campus bookstore and see if you can get a copy of XP for a reasonable price as a student. Software is one place where being a student gets you tremedous discounts. Use 'em while you can.
Posted by: Teresa at January 12, 2004 11:55 AMYay!
Posted by: Susie at January 12, 2004 11:55 AMI ran ME for two years.
It's not really all that much worse than 95. But XP is much better.
Posted by: Pixy Misa at January 12, 2004 10:08 PMXP is where it's at for a windows user... if your harware will support it. There is a thingy on tjier web site tpo determine if your harware will support it. Might be worth checking out. Good Luck getting everything lined up again.. that's the only drawback to upgrading... gettting it all to where you like it again.
Posted by: The Bartender at January 13, 2004 11:07 PMSpeaking as a computer consultant I must say that I love Windows ME. It is probably the worst piece of crap to ever come out of Redmond. It's great for LOTS of billable hours.
