I've been playing with my pink all morning and I'm still not satisfied. Why does it look like the color I want here, but when I put it in my style sheet it's way darker or oranger or purpler? The darn rebuilding takes so long, too! I wish MT had a "preview" feature like typepad does, where you can see what it's gonna look like before you rebuild. Um, Mr. Hypothetical? Can we add that to the list?
Anyway, you all are just going to have to deal with the new hot pink until I get some more time to play with colors. And you'll like it, too, by golly!
UPDATE: Since I can't seem to find a pink I am happy with, and the few yellows I tried were too...yellow...I've gone with the minty green for now. Next up--try to figure out why the dividers in the "show comments" are lovely in IE but show up as gray depressions in Mozilla....

Posted by: SilverBlue at March 26, 2004 12:28 PMLarge areas of solid colour will always look a bit odd. It's a psychovisual effect, and there's no way to fix it with a stylesheet.
Posted by: Pixy Misa at March 26, 2004 12:49 PMAh, SilverBlue you beat me to it. ROFL. PLaying with your pink. A euphemism for the new millenium!
Posted by: The Bull at March 26, 2004 01:01 PMI'll deal with it, but I won't like it.
Posted by: Jennifer at March 26, 2004 03:56 PMNot that a guy can really tell a gal how to play with her pink...
copy the main template/style sheets into other template names. Remove MT tags that pull entries, etc from template copy (the ones that chug the DB) Have it spit out some odd filename. Twiddle with template copy, reviewing via odd filename. Since it's only building one page, should be faster.
When happy (or just not as unhappy, or just to the 'eff it point of the exercise), copy twiddled style sheet into the 'live' style sheet file. rebuild the style sheet file only.
Done. Have a smoke. Fix some coffee. The birds sing. The sun shines. Throw rock at birds and pull the shades.
Posted by: Wind Rider at March 26, 2004 04:13 PMWindrider, you're really cute--I know you're talking to me, I just wish I understood what you were saying...

Posted by: GEBIV at March 26, 2004 11:29 PMSusie - this is probably the dirtiest post you've ever written. When 2 other people besides Mr. Bad Example notice this, then I know it's not just me.
Anyway, right now your pink looks a little pale. Try rubbing gently and rythmically, with little circular motions, until more blood flows to the area. Don't stop until your are completely satisfied by the level of pleasure the new color brings you.
Harvey--obscenity is in the mind of the beholder...and I am now playing with my yellow and green--so there!
Posted by: Susie at March 27, 2004 09:42 AMMs Susie: The lines in the comments don't show color in Mozilla like they do in IE because the color="000000" tattribute is not CSS standards compliant. Nothing we can do about that one untill CSS certifies the attribute.
FYI... there are two lines in that code to change. The line between your comments is only at 75%, unless of course that is how you prefer it. Drop me a line or IM me if you need any other assistance.
