Goodness! It seems Alliance Limerick Laureate Silver Blue's friend, Roxette Bunny, has her own blog! Too bad she never got nominated for sexiest female blogger!

Ping Tsunami

Hurray! The Munuvians have their own blog! Our Benevolent Benefactor and Marvelous Mentor Pixy Misa has set up a group blog where all of Munuviana can babble expound on various inanities topics.....

It's very cool.....

Elsewhere, Evil Minion Kevin is not surprised that two Saudis are among those arrested for the mosque bombing...

Jamie McDonald has a lot of cool stuff posted...go read him!

Paul, while alive, hasn't posted again.....hope it's not a relapse!

Bill, as usual, posts even when there's nothing interesting to post about....

Harvey, Alliance Secretary of the Treasury and our guide to Bad Money, is torn between two trackers.... (sounds like a country song, doesn't it?)

Meanwhile...Some people, particularly this one, still haven't updated their links to Jennifer's new address....

Here's Tim's battle cry.... (and I thought it was "Susie doesn't link to me anymore!"....)

Eric has a battle cry, too...cool!

Tiger has fled to Mexico...but he leaves us with his battle cry (and snarky archives) until his return...

Victor has 2 more Dfilm entries in the Back From Vacation Saga.....

Glenn is using pMachine now....looks the same to me!

Here's SilverBlue's battle cry....

Lesser Evil Minion Kin has a photo of some guys who got a bad batch of puppyshake....more proof that the Evil One is, uh, Evil.....

That's enough pinging for one post...don't want to break anything!

I could do this all day....

What Is Your Battle Cry?

Lo! Who is that, stalking across the mini-mall parking lot! It is Publius, hands clutching a piece of chainlink fence! He cries vengefully:

"I'm going to pummel you in such an unsafe manner, your screams will shatter lightbulbs world-wide!!"

Ping Squall

By George, I'm up early today! Guess I'd better see what I missed yesterday when sending my "linky love"....

Harvey is trying to get into the swing of the ping.....
He also has one of his funniest graffitti currency entries ever...

Pietro has declared for the Puppy Blender, and is doing his part to ensure that Evil One remains atop the Ecosystem...come into the Light, dear blogfriend!

Victor did his Naked Munuvian Dance of Welcome for Jennifer and Ted, and I missed it! Drat!
(by the way, Victor, perhaps if you come into the Light, The Emperor will update his link to you on his blogroll...)

Bill has an insightful, um, insight, on the homeless....

Mac reveals the real reason the French were unprepared for their recent heatwave.....

John Collins is his usual diplomatic self in an encounter with a backhoe driver....

Glenn challenges the other Glenn, who is too frightened to respond....

Perry has a question for MT users...since I have trouble operating my keyboard, I'll toss it out to the experts:

I'm thinking of moving this blog from Greymatter over to Movable Type. It's not that I don't like GM, I do, but MT has a ton of features that GM doesn't, plus it's currently being updated and improved.

I do have a question for you MT types out there, though. Right now with GM I have the ability using Internet Explorer to highlight some text in a page that I want to reference and then right-clicking and choosing a menu option to automatically have the page's URL and highlighted text appear in a GM entry window. That makes it really simple to reference articles and stuff I find online in order to post about them.

I can't find where MT has a similar feature. Anyone know if it does?

Limerick Laureate SilverBlue has a lovely poem for us...

And I have to read here that Mookie is now a Munuvian!!!! Sheesh!!!! Talk about being out of the loop!!! Now I have to suit up and head into my template again! (Hope I'm out in time to go to work....not that I want to work, but internet access won't pay for itself....)

Ping Stormin'....(aka Susie says "I love you")

Man, my "weekend" just flew by....two days off in a row and I still didn't get anything done! With Labor Day weekend coming up and showtimes starting an hour earlier than normal, I will have to work harder that ever to find blogging time. Then Tuesday, classes start. Oh joy.

So, I'm gonna party like it's 1999 tonight! Celebrate, celebrate, dance to the music....

Items for celebrating:

JenLars is a Munuvian!!!! Hurray!!!!!
Rocket Jones is a Munuvian!!!!!! Hurray!!!!
Tiger won his court case!!!!! Hurray!!!!!
Frank got more hate mail!!! Hurray!!!!
The Alliance Speciality Blog is up!!! Hurray!!!
PAUL IS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!! Hurray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tim is back from his illness (monkeypox, as determined by reader poll)!!!!! Hurray!!!!! [and posting like he's leaving the country soon or something....]

Oh, and one more thing to celebrate.....

Frank put me on his blogroll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His real blogroll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll never call him Ethel again! (except, of course, in the course of my war against against him as a member of the original Axis of Naughty--not those Evil, cool-name-borrowing instaminions against whom I am waging ceaseless war on behalf of the Alliance of Free Blogs).

Oh--and Frank's having a caption contest for a cute armed-and-dangerous kitty picture.... go be funny....

Drat!

Well, I headed to the computer this morning determined to start the day with a post to PP, since I have been neglecting it in favor of updating the stupid dratted fabulous war blog but got sidetracked by an email from Evil Minion Kevin of Wizbang....(this post explains all).

That finally attended to....I have forgotten what it was about which I was going to blog!

Anyway, "Thank you" to Harvey for all his encouragement (Ah! Firemen!) and "Going to miss you" to Jennifer, who has abandoned blogging...

at blog-city and joined the ranks of the munuvians....

Sheesh...

The Evil Minions of White Glenn appear to be in complete disarray. For example:

1) They can't even come up with their own banner, so they copy ours but put their own name in it...

2) They can't agree on a name for their side so some of them ask to "borrow" a name...

Sad, aren't they?

So little to say, so much space to fill....

I did some blog wandering and found some stuff. I was at Jennifer's, Ted's, Mookie's, Kevin's, Tim's, Tiger's, Pixy's, annika's, Harvey's, Glenn's,Tuning Spork's, Evil White Glenn's, Frank's, Bill's, Paul's, John Collins', Blackfive's, Michele's, The Alliance, Victor's, Old catman's son's, and some other places I forget.

This is pretty much all I remember: Jennifer announced she is letting the allies of Evil Glenn use her Axis of Naughty name. This puts me and Tuning Spork in the unusual position of being our own enemies....

Kevin has a new Bonfire up....

and although Tiger finished the story of his court case, he was so tired his Navel Gazing Report was in braille....

The only thing I was inspired to blog about was poor grammar, but since my shouting corrections at the monitor had little effect, I doubt actually blogging about it will help....(besides, I'm a lousy speller myself...)

Wandering the blogosystem....

Well, for those of you no longer amused by the Great Blog War to End All Blog Wars, Frank has moved his war posts to Alliance Headquarters, and is back in true Frank form with a new Frank Answers, Bite-sized Wisdom, and Hate Mail....

Tiger is threatening to do his Nightly Navel Gazing Reports on a guest navel!!!! No! No! I will accept no substitutes!!!!

Thanks to SilverBlue, I learned that Ted of Rocket Jones did my wandering for me...Thanks, Ted!

Well, next volley of thunderstorms is moving in...offline with Susie....

Old issues, rehashed

Well, college starts this week, and my Assistant's course schedule necessitates a work schedule change (luckily I'm flexible). So my days off (yes! plural! woo hoo!) are going to be Wednesday and Thursday. That's the good news. The bad news is I'm going to have three consecutive 12 hour days instead of spaced-apart ones. Sort of like firefighters, now that I think of it.... (dang it, I get to thinking about virile young firemen and
Sorry, lost my train of thought.
The other thing is a whine...there are so many good blogs to read that I sometimes run out of time to post myself! So I hope that having two days off in a row will give me a day to read and catch up.
I'm going to try a modified version of my comment tagging...instead of commenting in every post I read, I'll attempt to comment in at least one post per each blog I visit each day, and see how that works out.

Well, since it's Monday, there should be a new In My World......

Yippee! Here it is! And it's one of the funniest I've read since...well, the last one!

When I grow up I want to be just like Laura Bush and whomp the Hell's Democrats.....

So I've fallen behind in my battle with Kin for the permalink at Kevin's. This means I have to gratuitously link to him in every post this week....

Thought for the day..

The problem with boys teasing girls that they don't know really well (such as non-wives or non-long-term girl friends) is that the boys don't know when the girls are PMSing and something he thinks is funny is going to make her cry....

That said, I want to thank Kevin of Wizbang! for the help getting my Alliance Logo to link to the Alliance blog. (He can't help it he's a boy, and, afterall, Frank made me cry too, and I forgave him...eventually).

Rant

I like people. It's customers I can't stand.
Well, not all customers. There is the occasionally decent human being who realizes that customer service industry personel a) might actually have feelings and b) aren't doing this job solely because they have an I.Q. in the lower double digits and are hence unfit for "real" work, like telemarketing or ditch-digging. But it seems like those people get fewer and fewer all the time.

And some (again, it seems like more all the time) not only have no respect for other people's property, they actually think that taking anything that's not nailed down is acceptable behavior (apparently that $1 they paid for admission entitles them to "all you can grab"). People have stolen our salt shakers. One week we "lost" a record five. Several times when our restroom soap dispensers had run dry (due to supply order problems ) or been broken by vandals and we bought pump hand soap from the store to tide us over, those were stolen. But last night was the capper...someone stole the rope we use to block off the larger theater when we clean it. A rope! Unfreakingbelievable.....

I blame our school system, where teaching "morals" is equated with teaching religion....so, for everyone who has attended a public school in the last twenty years: Stealing is Bad.

Saturday GLA

Here it is Saturday morning, one of my prime blogging times since I close on Saturdays, and there's very little new to comment on...

Well, Pixy wants us all to upgrade...

Kevin is excited to be on a list (some people are so easily pleased....which may explain why he has pledged his alliegence to the Puppy Blender...)

Tiger explains (in one of his trademarked footnotes) how the courts in his county operate. It reminded me of Bob Costas' explanation of the tournament schedule in "Basketball"...

Paul generously offers blogging tips to Bill C. and John Collins, which John applies successfully...

Well, I have Saturday errands to run...look for more GL later!

Excessive GL Warning....

Fighting a three-front Blog War is very time-consuming, especially the way work cuts into my blogging time. I finally have some time for Gratuitious Linkage, so here goes....

Tiger has been blogging a Nightly Navel Gazing Report. These are a must read!

Frank has The Rumsfeld Strangler vs. Cyber-Lenin up. Yay!

One side effect of having to work all the time is I have seriously neglected linking to Kevin of Wizbang! So much so that I lost to Kin!!! (If only Kevin had waited an hour or so before tabulating the votes!!!!)

Paul has been possessed by Stephen King. Before that happened, he offered his thoughts on the Great Blog War....

Silver Blue offers a lovely limerick....

Jennifer wades in to take up the gratitous linkage slack for me...Thanks Jen! That's what girlfriends are for.... (now get MT so I can ping you!).

Tuning Spork considers the concept of Trust...

Tim (thanks for doing my work for me, Jen!) summarizes the Blog War for the uninterested...

James reviews Gods and Generals (spoiler: he panned it).

John Collins got food poisoning at Red Lobster. Oddly enough, the last time I ate at Red Lobster the same thing happened to me.... (psst...John...update your blogroll..Victor has moved).

Speaking of Victor, he denies he is at war with Ted....sounds like the opening salvo to me....

Well I have to head into the theater and thread movies for showing to empty theaters (since the kids are back in school but we are still running matinees...go figure).

Until the next episode of GL, I bid you peace....

A Startling Discovery!

The following is a Public Service Announcement from The Bloggers' Alliance:

The Truth About Glenn Reynolds

Yes, it's true--White Glenn is not really white! He is actually sort of chartreuse, and covers his natural skin tone with Revlon Oil Free Color Stay Make Up (true beige). As revealed in the film, "White" Glenn is actually a vampire! This explains his frequent need for fresh puppy blood, and the mysterious disappearance of Hobos in his vicinity.....

Early morning rant

Ok, THIS annoys me. Specificly (emphasis mine):

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Rescuers hauled more bodies from the ruins of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad on Thursday, raising to 23 the number killed in a devastating truck bomb attack, as the world debated how to respond.

Pardon me, but isn't that a teensy bit egocentric? There have been terrorist attacks on U.S. troops since May... did the world "debate" how to "respond" to those? Is there a "world debate" on the "response" to the most recent bus bombing in Isreal? Did the world "debate" how to "respond" to the Bali bombing? The world, the real world, has been dealing with terrorism for decades--but now that the U.N. has been a target, it is suddenly worthy of "world debate"???

Okay, okay...it's probably some journalist looking for a catchy headline...the U.N. can't really think that it's more important than its members, can it? That would be, well, communist!

U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan and Secretary of State Colin Powell were to meet later in the day in New York to discuss a U.N. resolution that could provide greater security in Iraq.

Um, excuse me? A U.N. resolution is going to provide greater security? That is sooo cool! Holy cow! Alert the media! Oh, wait, they already did... So if the U.N. is so powerful that a single resolution can provide greater secuity in Iraq, why didn't they do that months ago? And why haven't they passed a resolution that cures AIDS?

Well, at least they aren't blaming America this time....

Annan questioned reports that the U.N. mission in Baghdad had refused offers of tighter U.S. security before the blast. "I don't know if the United Nations did turn down an offer for protection. But if it did, it was not correct and they should not have been allowed to turn it down," he said.

Oops! I spoke too soon...Well, at least we now know that the head of the U.N. admits that the U.S. knows what's best for people and in the future we should just go ahead and do whatever we think is right despite U.N. opinion....

It's about time they got one thing right...

Muddled Rambling and Random Musing

The bad thing about being sick is that once you are recovering you are still exhausted. My energy levels have been fluctuating like a simile that eludes me right now.

Anyway, a while back I read on Jamie's blog that he has only purchased ONE of my blogshares because they were too expensive. So I have just emerged from that dark and scary place (aka the main template) where I added several links to my blogroll in an attempt to make myself more affordable. I don't know if it is going to work, but the basic laws of supply and demand indicate that the more there is of something, the less it's worth, so I thought I would give it a try...

I have been intermittantly fluttering around the blogosystem today, and I read a lot of interesting posts, but I just don't have the energy at the moment to re-seek them and link to them and etc. (I apologize to those bloggers at whose places I did not leave comments, and suggest you consider yourselves the lucky ones...)
So I am going to tell you about the movie I saw this afternoon....my niece (who doesn't start school until tomorrow--although that sounds like I only have one niece, when in actual fact I have seven) and I went to see RUGRATS GO WILD. (It's at my theater, it's my day off, and we got in free...).

I give this movie two big thumbs and two big toes up! It was a very well done "family" movie--which means there was witty repartee for the grownups to chuckle at, and broad slapstick for the children and the men to enjoy. It was actually a Rugrats-meet-the Wild Thornberrys, and I had to get my niece to explain some of the characters' relationships (in the car on the way home, natch--Susie does not disturb other patrons by talking in a movie...), but overall I enjoyed it. It was rated PG rather than G because of a few scenes of "peril". But it's not too perilous unless you're like Chuckie Fenster.

I hardly ever use this extended entry thing, because it seems to me it's really only good for hiding the punchline to a joke, and then it's usually annoying because there's only one or two more lines there. However, I have noticed that the Emperor makes excellent use of the extended entry, so if I do decide to use this more often I will be sure to emulate him and make it worth my readers' while.

So let me add that the various Wars I am involved in seem to be going well, although the Axis of Evil Naughty seems to be pulling ahead in the creative titles department (which reminds me--what ever happened to the Slutatarians?) while the Alliance has the photoshopping sewn up...

I haven't stopped by Kin's lately to see how hard I need to ping Kevin to stay in the race, but the way things have been shaping up it looks like the Hobo Killer might get my permaroll spot.....

Breaking News....

Well, I am sure my fellow Axis members will be delighted to know that I am feeling a tad better today. While I may never develop an appreciation for fungi, I thank God frequently for mold in handy pill form...

Meanwhile, Beloved Benefactor, Brave Axis Ally and Avowed Insta-Enemy, Pixy Misa has a cool new toy...

Stalwart Champion of Fence Sitting Neutrality Tiger is seeing Superheroes in his visitor stats...

Axis Leader Jennfer continues to gather allies in her battle with Frank....

And Frank is better! Yay!

I feel yucky...

I only came online to explain that I'm sick, but there was a comment at The Alliance blog that Frank is sick, so I went to IMAO and found a cool ad for the Axis of Evil Naughty, which took me to Jennifer's where she had a link to Kevin who has a link to IMAO, so I went around in circles a few times...anyway, the dirth of posting is because I have been wasting perfectly good blogging time feeling miserable at work and then sleeping the rest of the time.

I'd tell you my symptoms, but then you'd mistake this for Bill's blog...

We interrupt this blog...

I guess maybe I'm too new to this blogging thing, or maybe I'm just naive about people...

Even though I had heard about bloggers sniping at each other, and at least one instance of a reader not realizing that Frank was joking, it never occurred to me that bloggers and their "fans" could be so petty and malicious as this.

Ever since I read it, and the associated links, I have been extremely disturbed by the whole thing. I don't have a side here. I am not a regular reader of either of these ladies' sites. And one of them, although I don't know which, has some serious "issues".

So, just in case I happen to have a seriously deranged "fan", let me clarify:
My "battle" with Kin is intended to be playfully amusing.
The Axis of Naughty is a joke.
Frank's war on the Instapundit is a joke.
Any and all exhortations to "take sides" in the Blog War, declarations for one side or the other, appeals for peace...these are all ways to amuse ourselves during Official Bloggers' Navel Gazing Month....

Okay? We all clear on that?

We now take you back to your regularly scheduled blogging....

Not entirely a War update....

Since Frank has broken the news, I can announce that I heeded his call for an Official War Blog. It can be found here.

I want to reminder my fellow warriors in the Axis of Evil Naughty that participating in Frank's War for Freedom from the Evil Influence of the Puppy Blender (and/or his Evil Minions) in no way detracts from the fight against him on behalf of the Axis....these are completely seperate wars, and should be considered as such by all.....

Okay, I lied...I guess this is entirely a War update, because while I was blogging the above I forgot the other things I was going to write about....

Sigh....

Not a War Update....

Today is the start of the hellish weekend work schedule (6-12 tonight, 12-12 tomorrow and 12-6 on Monday). Unfortunately for me, my Assistant is NOT taking his college courses via the internet, and this semester he has classes both Monday and Tuesday, so starting next week, since I have to work ALL of Monday and Tuesday, I am going to make him split Sunday with me! Then I will be off on Wednesday and Thursday (or maybe half of Thursday? I wrote it down somewhere....), unless the owner's experiment of being open for matinees once school starts is successful, in which case I'm going to have to change the schedule again, because he (the owner) told me the 12 hour days during the week were only for the summer, and I am frigging sick of them! It was one thing to be working 9 hours without a break 4 days a week, and 12 hours without a break the other day, but it has been completely horrible working multiple 12 hour days, with only one day off a week....

Anybody want my job? The hours are long, but the pay is low.....

Program Notes....

In keeping with Frank's decree, Glenn is no longer (Not Reynolds) but just Glenn, and I have adjusted my blogroll link accordingly.

Also Victor (neé LC Victor) has joined the ranks of the munuvians and can now be found at http://publius.mu.nu/ so adjust your links asap!

UPDATE: Cherry is now a munuvian too!!!!!

War Correspondence

Okay, I'm only going to explain this one time, so listen up! While I am on Frank's side to fight the good fight against the Insta PuppyBlender, I am also on JenLars' side in her war against Frank, while at the same time conducting my own offensive against Kin in the matter of a link from Kevin the Wiz. (As long as nobody assassinates Archduke Ferdinand, I ought to be okay...)

Jen has decreed me Official Pinger, which I accept with due gravity, and pledge to ping Frank mercilessly whenever possible... (any pongs are inadvertent...)

Auuugh! MT!!!!!

Sorry to all those who got pongged!!!!!!

UPDATE: And what's worse, some of my pings to Kevin never went through!!!

So much to blog about, so little time....

I only have two hours until I have to leave for work, and that is definately not long enough to comment on all the good stuff I encountered last night (well, since it was after midnight it was probably really early this morning) when I got home from work.
Handy reminder list:
[Now, the last time I posted a list like this, Tim wanted to know when I was going to finish blogging about it. So let me explain. Having typed all the "subjects" in a "list", I then go back and fill in a few sentences and or links to explain why they are there. However, you, my Loyal Readers, don't see that part of the process. You only see the finished result. So imagine the list part, and enjoy my gratuituos linkage...]

Tiger provided me with so much to read last night when I got home from work that I was finally commentless...

Kin reminded me of a song I used to sing on the way to the laundromat when I was in college--here it is for you in all its glory:

You can tell by the way I do my wash
I'm a laundryman--use Snowy Bleach.
You bring the clothes and I'll bring the soap
Just hand 'em over, don't need no speech...
Ah, ah, ah, ah, doin' the wash, doin' the wash,
Ah, ah, ah, ah, doin' the wash!
© Susie (with apologies to the BeeGees)

Pixy Misa has 80 million invoices and payments to deal with...and I thought I had a lot of bills!

Victor has two more entries in his Dfilm serial, Back from Vacation...I think the real Collins and Cimino are actually less articulate than he depicts them in Part 6...

Tim is on this list because he is one of my blog siblings and needs links....

Perry has noticed an absence of "tagging" in his comments...sorry, Perry! What happens is I start down my "reading list" and then wander off into a link, which takes me to another link, and before I know it, it's time to go to work! Then, when I get home, everybody has posted NEW links for me to get lost in.... I will try to do better...

Jim S says my comment tagging looks like I'm a troll.... Dang! Can't a girl try to share the love? And it really takes less time to write "Susie was here" than "The beauty and eloquence of your prose has stunned me commentless..." (which some people might not take in the spirit in which it was written...). Maybe I'll have to re-think this comment thing....(or maybe Jim is just jealous I haven't "tagged" his blog....?)

Kevin the Wiz keeps us up to date with the Blogging Kevins (sounds like a band of bagpipers, doesn't it?)

Harvey's Hare Tonic search...did anyone help him out?

Frank J! He posted a long Declaration of War while I was at work yesterday, and support seems to be growing...

Well, folks, now I have to go read and "tag" all the stuff I missed last night, and I only have a half hour to do it before I have to get ready for work...

Somebody needs to make a "kept woman" out of me so I can blog all day (in return for...um, favors.....)

War and Peace of Mind

Oh my goodness--the coffee hasn't even finished brewing, let alone begun to be ingested in an attempt to re-inflate my brain back to normal size, and already I have two urgent blog issues that must be addressed!

Kin is sadly mistaken if he thinks quoting the Bard will intimidate me...Kevin's permalink will be mine! Muh ha ha ha ....

Harvey has issued an APB for any information on the Bugs Bunny episode called "Hare Tonic" which featured "rabbititis" --if anyone remembers it, please head over to Bad Money and let him know.... I don't know why it's so urgent that he be reassured of his sanity, but some people have a problem with that whole "call me crazy" stigma...

UPDATE: Muh ha ha...Kin has fallen victim to Dfilmania! So while he is making movies, I will out-link him!

Whew!

Well, that went surprisingly well.. I only tripped over one toasted racoon corpse and the slug infestation seems to be subsiding (must be that new Slug-Be-Gone that Pixy Misa started using...).

Anyway, since he pingged me so enjoyably, AND because I'd already had him bookmarked for some reason, I have added Steven Taylor of Poliblog to that list thingee over there <------.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in blogland, Frank has been in a posting frenzy...

Maybe I need to adjust my brilliant idea a little, and figure if I link to a post they'll know I've read it, so I don't have to comment...

Share the Love...

Man, it's tough leaving comments on every blog I read! Sometimes I get so interested in the article I forget to comment and have to go back!

Anyway, here are a few of the less interesting posts I've encountered:

Bill has nothing so badly that even his lame poll tanked--not one person had answered it more than 6 hours after he put it up. Now that's sad...

Tim sneezes...

Paul has nothing, too, but in fewer words....

Tiger spends a lot of time trying to figure out why people visit him...

Victor is still making movies....

Hmm...looks like I just scooped Kevin on next week's Bonfire entries!

Posted by Susie at 10:46 AM | Comments (1)

Off the beaten track

In keeping with my new policy of commenting where ever I go, I have discovered that some people actually read the comments to their blog! How cool is that? Way cool!
So I am out doing my morning wander, and as sometimes happens when I am still drinking my recommended daily minimum requirement of caffiene in the form of Gevalia's Costa Rican Peaberry, I strayed off my usual path into a series of intriguing links that led here. So I left my "tag" in the comments. Turns out this blogger has moved to type pad and has multiple blogs there. But what I find most interesting is he is from Australia and is a geek. My bestest blog friend, Pixy Misa, is also an Aussie geek.

Do you two guys know each other?

I have an idea...

It's probably not a very good idea, but hey, they can't all be up there with the Bill C. vs. John Collins insult-a-thon...

I have to thank Tiger for this idea, for two reasons. The first is I just thought of it while leaving a comment at his blog, and the second is that he wrote a post awhile back commenting on the lack of comments relative to the number of visitors to his blog. So I think what I shall do is this: whenever I read a post I am going to leave a "comment" indicating that I read that post.

Now, as I wrote this morning I have BLA [although not as badly this evening as this morning (thank you Tim)] so, while so afflicted, it is probably not possible to make cogent rebuttals or witty ripostes as comments; therefore what I'm going to do if I can't think of anything amusing to say is just write "Susie was here" or something equally pointless, just so the blogwriter knows I not only read their words, but was struck commentless by the beauty and elegance of their prose...

Maybe I'll just leave punctuation....

{Gotta wonder how many bloggers I'm going to annoy the heck out of before I get bored with doing it...}

Posted by Susie at 09:33 PM | Comments (13)

It's my blogroll and I'll alphabetize if I want to...

Kevin the Wiz links to a discussion on blogroll segregation. He says: Heck I'll weigh in on that polarizing topic... I'm in favor of being blogrolled any old way. If you put me in your suck-ass bloggers category I'll take it as a compliment.
Well said, Kevin. And I am afraid I must come down as Pro-Segregation here. My blogroll is my reading list...I'm sorry if it hurts your ego if I don't read your site religiously, but there are only so many hours in the day for blog reading when your workplace is Technology Free™-- the sad truth is there really are only 4 or 5 blogs I check every day for new goodies, and if I told you which ones they were I would have to kill you...

Important Question of the Day

Ok, today must be my day for findin' out stuff. I was skipping around my blog roll, and swung by Jamie's where he mentioned that he was listed on Blogshares but didn't know how he got there. Well I've heard people talking about how they sold some shares or bought back their own shares or whatever, but it didn't really interest me. Only, I've got nothing better to do than get a refill on my key lime sherbet, and that can wait a couple minutes, so I click on Jamie's link and look at his blogshare thingee. What the heck, I type my blog name in the search box, and low and behold: I am valued at 7115.37 and available to trade.

How did I get in on this game?
How is it played?
Is it worth my even being interested?
Is three bowls of key lime sherbet too much?

Posted by Susie at 07:46 PM | Comments (4)

Non-pingage....

Holy Conspiracy Theories, Batman! My posts are not getting pinged by non-MT bloggers. What's up with that? Has this always been the case and I never noticed, or is recent?

Victor linked to a post of mine but there was no trackback here...I just happened to stop by his place for a visit (where I found another great Dfilm awaiting me).

Harvey also linked to me twice, which I stumbled on accidently.

This is very NO FAIR! How am I supposed to know people are saying nice things about me if I don't get pingged?

I need a bowl of sherbet. lime. key lime...

Lame Linkage Post #896

In his post, "You're not alone...," Paul says:I'm curious about something. How many of you who are reading this are at work, and should be doing actual work instead of reading this mindless drivel?

But I am, Paul--I am alone! My workplace is a technology-free zone... I have to blog and read blogs at home, on my own time! [the horror!]

As [shudder] horrifying as that is, I have found something even worse: not being at work and having to read this post!
[oh, the humanity.....]

Monday Morning Blues

When I was a young'un [last week ;)] and had writer's block I would call it CLA (Cerebral Literary Arrest). Now I seem to have BLA (Blogger's Literary Arrest). I have been wandering the Blogosystem, coffee in hand, flitting from blog to blog in search of inspiration; yet despite finding a lot of good reading, I have been unable to remark upon any of it, leaving no comments in the "Kilroy was here" vein--the bloggers'graffitti so others know we love them--nor finding any post that inspired in me the urge to ping someone. There was even nothing new at The Netflix Blog, even tho' it's Monday and there should be a new In My World....

'tis indeed a sad day when Susie has no urge to ping...

Semi-Lame Post #37

Pixy Misa offers a brief yet amusing summary of the story so far as an introduction to Episode 17 of the interminable yet thrilling saga of The Blogfather...

If you have been resisting the lure of Dfilm, you obviously haven't seen Pixy's magnum opus (still in progess). If 18 episodes seems too long for you, try Tuning Spork's Spam Trek -- it's only 6 parts!

Lame Post #313

Well, I sent the last post off to Kevin for the Bonfire, but he allows multiple entries, so if this one turns out as I suspect it will, I'll submit it as well.

I have to leave for work in one hour, and today, as Loyal Readers know, is one of my 12 (13 this week) hour days. As movie start and end times fluctuate, so do my hours. One week the first show wasn't until 1:40, which meant I could show up at 12:45. Whoo hoo! This week the first show is 12:10, so I have to be there at 11. Why so early? I hear you not asking. Well, I have to let in the kids, so they can pop the popcorn, and turn on the soda machines, and open the candy cabinets, and I have to unlock the doors, turn on all the lights, set up the cash registers and thread the projectors, and check out the place to see what has fallen off or crumbled or started leaking overnight. And for some reason people always start showing up and trying to buy tickets 45 minutes before the first show starts....
Which reminds me: How come nobody ever shows up to buy tickets 10 minutes or so before the movie starts? A few come an hour early and then have to sit in the lobby and wait while we clean the theater from the previous show; the majority seem to arrive at the posted showtime. So they get in the ticket line at two minutes to 7 for the 7 o'clock show, get in the concession line for their popcorn and soda, head into the theater about 7:10 or 7:15, and then come back out to the lobby to ask for a refund because they missed the start of the movie!
Well, duh!
Just because the first-run theaters have twenty minutes of ads and commercials before the show starts doesn't mean that we do too... 97% of our movies have no previews, and the rest come with one or two 1 minute ads tops. It's logical when you think about it--they have 18 or so screens to fiddle with, while we have only two; too many ads and we lose one whole showing a day in each theater....
Okay, I think I rambled on aimlessly long enough...

Posted by Susie at 10:12 AM | Comments (0)

Lame Post #312

Thanks to Bill for the idea for titles...

So I haven't posted much except linkage lately, but that's because everybody else is writing such good stuff and making great Dfilms, and my life has been a little boring recently. The semester is over and the next one doesn't start for a couple weeks (I'm taking some yucky Economics class--required). Nothing major has collaspsed, disintigrated or gotten all used up at the theatre, and I keep forgetting to take my camera to see if I can get more ghost pictures...

In other words, I've got squat. It's actually rather nice not to have horrible days at work, but it leaves me with little to whine about.

So, I guess I've got my Bonfire entry for this week, huh?

Frankenlinkage

Since Frank was kind enough to visit my blog and leave a snarky (love that word!) comment, I am going to link to his most recent Frank Answers.... (which was pretty funny if you missed it because you stopped going by there ever since he put up that annoying banner ad, and who could blame you? other than Frank, I mean...)

Posted by Susie at 01:07 PM | Comments (0)

A Handy List

Things I want to blog about today:

Tim's essay (which seems to me to be a perspicuous prognosis of where our two major political parties are headed)
Tuning Spork's essay (an excellent analysis of Arnie's potential as Governor of Kalifornia)
Kevin's search for Kevins (of which I have only two others blogrolled that I am aware of, Kevin of The Primary Main Objective and Kevin of The Smallest Minority, in addition, of course, to Kevin the Wiz)
Tim's next Dfilm attempt(which blows the lid off the the curse of Dfilmania's TRUE origins.....)
and John Cole's Blogger Awards, and Tiger's campaign to be Snarkiest Blog (so everybody vote for him!)

Posted by Susie at 11:52 AM | Comments (2)

Ta da!

Okey dokey, I survived the Template Excusion relatively unscathed (although it was very disappointing that no attractive Firemen or other Rescue Squad hunks were required to extract me) and so my "blogroll" section is now even longer....if it gets to the point where it starts to take you scrolling down into last week's posts, I'll probably have to have a contest or something...

Anyway, check out the new linkages if you get bored with me...there's some good stuff there, I guess, or I wouldn't have favoritized 'em....

UPDATE: When is MT going to get sassenfrassensazzafrazza spell check!??! Auugh! Sorry for any "pongs" (thanks, Tiger!)

Posted by Susie at 11:20 AM | Comments (1)

Sorry! Sorry!

Double pings again!!!! Sorry!!! One of these days I'll figure out why it does that (or maybe not...maybe there is no logical reason, just an example of entropy and chaos directed specificly at me by Loki....)

Saturday Sillies...

Well I woke up today with every intention of suiting up and heading into my main template to work on my blogroll...but I just had to stop by Pixy Misa's first, and goodness he was busy while I was asleep. Ping storm!

Episode 16 of the Blogdfather is up. Episode 15 was apparently eaten by overzealous bureaucrats at some snarky (LOVE that word! must use it more!) web host place. In place of it, there's this fragment, apparently all that remains of The Lost Episode...

Now, into the template with me.... (send ruggedly-handsome and attractively-buff firemen to rescue me if I'm not back in an hour....)

Friday Night Follies

John Collins turns the tables on Paul with an interview....

Bill strikes back at both John and Paul with flair and sensitivity (his hallmarks).

I think this is a good time to suggest that someone host a Dfilm festival..... (but not me, I'm an instigator, not an organizer....)

Tiger informs us he has a date....

Silver Blue got tired of waiting for Paul to interview him, and got Roxette Bunny to do it. He also has fallen victim to the Dfilm Disease....again!

Frank has the next part of Empress Condi up....

Posted by Susie at 09:00 PM | Comments (1)

And there was much rejoicing (yay!)

Back from the depths of bloglessness.....hurray! and thanks to Pixy Misa for jump-starting the server with only bailing wire and Q-tips. (I was crabby to the kids all day at work, despite my confidence that I would have my blogging restored...eventually. )
Thanks also to Bill and Tiger for letting me blog in their comments. Now I have to go see what's happened in the world of blogging today...

Movie Mania

I started this entry to tell you my interview's up over at Paul's, but got sidetracked by all the new filmmakers, like Tuning Spork and John Collins.... John's is hilarious (gee, who'd a thought?) and Spork's is too....

Anyway, I guess Paul was expecting me to make stuff up, but I respect him too much as a journalist not to take his questions seriously. Plus making stuff up is hard work, and I hate hard work--heck, I hate easy work....

Gratuitous Linkage and other fun

Well, I need to link to some people to keep my average up...who shall it be?

Oh! Kevin, of course, so I can stay on his permaroll with the grownups... he calls IMAO "the Netflix blog presented by Frank J." Since I love Frank and hate the Netflix banner, I am considering changing the name of his link to this more appropriate one. Kevin also has a scary story, kids....

John Collins discusses the sensative issue of homosexuality and the Catholic Church...

Jamie says :
Switched from Dataplain to Sitemeter so I can see just how pathetic my numbers are in a cool graphic form.
Excellent! Next you'll be checking the Ecosystem every ten minutes, like Tiger....

And somebody needs to point out to that Instaguy that there is a 14 episode "tribute" to him over at Pixy's....

Posted by Susie at 09:46 PM | Comments (4)

Run faster!

Pixy Misa has episode 14 of the Blogfather!

Posted by Susie at 08:10 PM | Comments (3)

Yippie! Frank has made a Dfilm! I liked scene two the best....

Posted by Susie at 08:07 PM | Comments (1)

Paul is forgiven....

I just finished my interview with Paul, and brother, is he tough! I feel like I need to have a picnic in the dorm hallway with gin and lemonade to celebrate the end of mid-terms! And I didn't even get a study guide beforehand...

Posted by Susie at 07:53 PM | Comments (0)

Thanks, Frank!

Paul's failure to interview me has distracted me from the more important task of linking to Frank's "Guns for Dummies" lecture. It was very edifying; now I know the difference between the "kill'n hole" and the "beat'n end" of a gun, which is very important information!

He also has a survey on his main page which only people who LIKE him are supposed to take. This means Glenn (Not Reynolds) is being discriminated against....

Posted by Susie at 11:09 AM | Comments (2)

D film lives!

Pixy has up the next thrilling episode in the Blogfather Saga (and his talents are being severely limited by the inability to have more than two characters on screen at one time, forcing him to use the old "see who's over there" ploy).

Meanwhile, I have my own new prequel episode "Paul made me cry"

Posted by Susie at 10:37 AM | Comments (3)

Me! Pick me!

First it was John Collins. Then Bill C. Next was Glenn (not Reynolds). Now there is Tiger.

My momma was right--let a guy stay in your comments, and he won't respect you enough to interview you....

I think he either wants to make me cry (like Frank did) or else make a movie about him. Hmmm.....

What Michele hath wrought

Will the D(film)isease never stop spreading? Silver Blue has it too....

Dear Tiger, I could not possible do justice to your Art in the few moments I had before returning to Hell ™(aka the theater). I had every intention of deconstructing--um critiquing your masterwork after a less hurried viewing....
Ok, let's see....interesting soundtrack....hmm-- unexpected cameo by a big name star; industry standard production values...ad homonym (or is it ad homophone?) attacks....
Yes, I think you'll tick somebody off....

Playin Hookie.....

I snuck out of work and came home for about 1/2 an hour because I couldn't wait 4 more hours to read today's "In My World". Pixy Misa has a hilarious response to it. Tiger has fallen victim to Dfilmania....

Harvey lost Bolgroll Survivor (and it turns out I voted for serenity's answer anyway!) and now the pressure is on me to come up with a losers' logo. Thanks, Frank! I need more pressure in my life...

I hope we get our supply order today. If we don't, I may need bail money.....

Ranting

Tuning Spork has two terrific new posts today, but the one nearer and dearer to my heart is the fisking he gives the government for taxing cigarettes... I think he missed an important point regarding this statement:

Bill Clinton's favorite excuse, when calling for federal tobacco taxes, was to claim that it would keep cigarettes out of the mouths of The Children(TM).

The Children ™ are most able to afford these draconian taxes because they have the most disposable income! And The Children ™ have friends over 18 who will buy cigarettes for them (just as they have friends over 21 who wil buy them beer), so the fact that my local Walgreens has a sign proclaiming, and a policy mandating, that it cards for cigarettes if you look under 40 is nothing more than harrassment!

I can hear the anti-smokers now....blah blah blah second-hand blah smelly blah allergies blah blah...

So you know what? I think that women with fat legs and vericose veins who wear shorts are sickening to look at. So we should tax the sale of all shorts to pay for the treatment of pregnancy. Wait, let's tax shorts to pay for abortions to prevent vericose veins! Problem solved!

I'm done... for now....

To satisfy popular demand, the director has burrowed deep into her movie -making past and decided to release one of her earlier (12 hours ago) attempts at film-making.

The now-classic No Moonies for Oil! stars Tiger playing opposite the director herself. Notice the subtle references to recent posts of the male lead, and the post-modern sub-text of Insta-mockery and link-whoredom....

It's always sumthin'...

So since yesterday wasn't torturous enough for me, my internet access is acting up. Winners never prosper and losers never cheat, or something like that.

Anyway, B.B.M.M. Pixy Misa asked and I shall answer:

When we ran out of oil last week because the supply order never came, we had to order from a local vendor who didn't carry the oil we normally use, and instead gave us a coconut oil derivative that refuses to stay liquid at room temperature.....the oil is delivered to the popper from the 5 gallon drum through a pumping system via a plastic hose. The AC kicks on, the temperature in the theater drops below "Saraha", and the "oil" solidifies....the only way to get it moving again is to warm the hose with a blow dryer until it all liquifies again. Think Crisco shortening vs. Crisco oil.....

I succumbed.....

to Dfilm....
But, you have to have seen Pixy's and Jennifer's to truly enjoy...

Cruisin'

(and it's all thanks to Tiger who seems a little peeved with Frank....)

Nightly report...(aka "ping storm"...)

It was a rather uneventful day at the theater today...the only thing we ran out of was bottled water, and we only had to unfreeze the oil line with a hair dryer twice...but I'm still exhausted. So I don't know if I'm up for a full tour of my blog roll, but here at least are the highlights so far....
Paul has an exclusive interview with John Collins. They talk about Bill so much he thinks its about him...
Tiger offers an enigma wrapped in a pita....
Pixy Misa has gathered his magnum opus into one entry for those souls hardy enough to watch the entire thrilling saga....
Kevin reminds us that Bonfire entries are due by midnight....
Harvey (who I hope got his entry into Frank on time) has a gay example of grafitti currency today...
Tim uncovers a Communist plot....
Jennifer entertains herself (and all the other losers in Frank's contest)...
Glenn demands recognition for discovering Bill's nemesis (who thanks all the little people who made him the blogstar he is today)....

Loyal Readers know what tomorrow's forecast is!

Monday morning (insert epithet here)

Man, I head off to put in my twelve hours in Hell ™, and the Blogosystem suddenly comes alive! Turning Spork and Jennifer made movies, and Frank turned my pathetic attempts at a losers' logo into a competition! I am not delighted with any of the entries, though (sorry Pixy! sorry Frank!) so if anyone can design a better one (Kevin? Fritz?) I'll be happy to consider them ...

Ping Pong

Honest to goodness, what is it with MT lately? Either it sends 3 pings at a time, or none! sheesh! And it's sloooooowwwwww, too! Pixy, did I overload the memory with my stupid logo attempts? Can we delete them somehow if I did? Waaaahh!

Ok, I am going to manually enter the pings for this post, and everybody needs to go read the previous post (except Frank and John who got pinged the first time...probably multi-pinged!)

I think that's everybody...here goes! ping storm!

Ok now this is getting frustrating!!! I have published this twice and only 2 pings went through! And I need Tiger's to go through so he knows that I love him, and Kevin's to go through so I win the link-whorage for the week at his blog.

Sigh....one more try.....

Ping Storm!

This habit many bloggers have of taking the weekend off leads me to suspect that either they do most of their blogging from work, or they consider blogging to be work.
I can understand the former if they don't have internet access at home (although the opposite holds true for me). But if the latter is the case, why do they bother to do it? It's not like anyone is getting paid by the word in blogging. It's not (for most of us, anyway) that difficult to compose a sentence or two and hit publish. I can understand why someone like Frank would take the weekend off, because he posts the equivalent of several small novels every week. But others like Victor who just take off for the beach on the weekend without even asking his Loyal Reader if its ok with her.....or John Collins, who just doesn't post the weekend through.... Goodness, even Bill posted a deep and meaningful analysis of the nuances of lint yesterday!
Kevin thoughtfully provided for my entertainment needs yesterday, as did Tiger and B.B.M.M. Pixy Misa.

Now here's a link to this week's New Blog Showcase Entry.
Pixy has part 7 of the Blogfather up, and I have to go watch!

Pre-Dawn Perambulations

Well, Susie, what are you doing up at this early hour, young lady?
Stupid stupid stupid panic attack, dagnabbit. First in over two months. No doubt fueled by the stress of crumbling infrastructure and the curse of the poltergeist at work, last week of the semester pressure at school, and health issues involving my gun-totin', hillwilliam, language-that-would-make-a sailor-blush-usin', drink-you-under-the-table-'cause-she-was-raised-on-'shine, the-south-shall-rise-again-spoutin' mother. The triple whammy.
So, distraction being the best cure for a PA, I am going to blog a bit. Bear with me if I pause occasionally for relaxation breathing...

Tim is off Bogsplot!!!!!!!! Yippee!!!! Pixy Misa strikes again. I tell you, he really is a Renaissance Man...have you listened to his music? Read his book?
Seen his "Frnak Hates Me" logo? stopped by his forum? And we cannot forget Philanthropist, offering shelter to bogsplot refugees....
And he didn't pay me a penny for all this praise! (my rates are much higher than that....).

Elsewhere in the blogosystem, Frank has a delightful list of suggestions for WMD (note the lack of an "s" at the end, since the plural is in "weapons" not "destructions"), Kevin talks about somebody getting pelted with garbage, and reminds us its time for our Bonfire entries, as week 5 is almost upon us (my, how time flies!) Send him your week's worst post by midnight Monday.....
Tiger explains (via an asterisk, of course) his excellent grammer and ponders proper blogging procedure....
Mac (who is wrong when he says I don't love him anymore.....) takes a stab at linky-love...
Silver Blue has another great picture and helps Rachael in her quest to be the number one Google return for "Whore Clothes"...
Jennifer celebrates her two-month blogiversary....
And finally, the Ecosystem still seems to have a few bugs in it....(because I linked to two of Silver Blue's entries two days ago and they still haven't shown up in his ranking....)

Well, I am "normal" again...thanks for helping me though a rough patch...back to bed for Susie now...

I'm sure one of us can do better that this! I have to go to work now...

Hurray!!!

Harvey won group F! The bad news: he can't have the cool losers logo that someone is going to design for me (yet).
